Mole Day Eve 2014

The PLU Chemistry Department & Chem Club are hosting our annual celebration of Mole Day during National Chemistry Week. Our celebration is Mole Day Eve and is held at 7pm the night before Mole Day and is open to the PLU community.

ACS Career Event for Undergraduates

The Puget Sound Section of the ACS will how their 10th Annual Career Event on February 12th from 1-5pm at the City of Tacoma Center for Urban Waters Research Lab. The theme for this year's event is Careers in Chemistry: Emphasizing Solutions to Environmental Challenges.

International REU program from the ACS

There are 17 paid summer international research experiences for undergraduates that will occur in Germany, Italy, Singapore, and the United Kingdom.

SCI Scholars - Industrial Internships for Chemistry Undergraduates

This is a 10 week paid summer internship program for sophomores and juniors majoring in chemistry or chemical engineering. Applications are due December 14, 2013. Details can be found at:

ACS Scholars Program - $5000 Undergraduate Scholarship

The ACS Scholars Program provides renewable scholarships (of up to $5000) to African American, Hispanic, and American Indian high school seniors or college freshman, sophomores, or juniors pursuing a college degree in the chemical sciences.  Information can be found at:

Jonah Oh to Speak at PLU Chem Club Meeting - Feb. 27 at 5:30pm

Jonah Oh a PLU Alum from the class of 2011 will present "FINDING JOBS IN THE SCIENCES: What you can do with a Bachelor's Degree" at the Chem Club meeting on Feburary 27 at 5:30pm in Rieke 224.

CENTC (Catalysis) Undergraduate Summer Program

The Center for Enabling New Technologies Through Catalysis (CENTC) is looking for undergraduates for its summer research program.  The program gives preference to rising junior and seniors and has locations at 14 different universities and national labs. Applications are due February 25, 2013.

Nanotech Research Experience for Undergraduates

 

You can apply for a Research Experience (REU) in Nanotechnology through the National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network (NNIN).  Applications are due Wednesday, February 13, 2013.  The internship is a summer program that pays a $4000 stipend.

Chemistry Questions on Jeopardy for IYC
